We don't follow those methods because we believe high debt and the need for high returns is a dangerous game. Without either, we can keep our investments more stable, less volatile, and healthier.

Using an auction can become lengthy, tedious, expensive, and can endure heavy scrutiny from both the public and competitors. It's a relatively intense process with no guaranteed outcome either.

Staying Small
& Simple

We believe that ownership and incentives can influence decisions, which then control actions and outcomes.

That cycle means that if investors are looking for management and performance fees, in addition to a % return on capital for their own investors, they'll need massive growth. Essentially, it creates a hunt for only magic beans. Some will never sprout, but hopes are pinned on the few that grow into the magic beanstalk, thereby achieving the enormous returns required.

So, any "small beans" which are products that won't scale quickly or hugely, are left out. That creates a gap in the investing spectrum where deals between $250k-$1m are too big for most individual buyers, yet way too small for VCs, PE firms, or wealthy individuals.

Since we have are no outside investors, our decisions are centralized.

There are no "funds to deploy" or "people to please" just us to keep and grow great businesses.
